With so many companies in the Silicon Valley that are all trying to be the next IPO they need a solid SEO strategy. Most companies are trying to sell something but if you read this and you say you do not sell anything tangible and you are a Lead Generation website, well you are still trying to sell something.
- Products – eCommerce
- Apps – eCommerce
- Content – Ads
You can go on and on and you are still selling a product. If it is a newspaper you are selling ads. I have worked with many Silicon Valley companies and working on the “Silicon Valley SEO” in the past that I am always surprised at how many people do not grasp the basics of SEO. Many people will search for an expert. An expert is one that has many years of experience. They can own the situation and manage it.
Princeton defines an expert be the following:
An expert is someone widely recognized as a reliable source of technique or skill whose faculty for judging or deciding rightly, justly, or wisely is accorded authority and status by their peers or the public in a specific well-distinguished domain.
Looking back on twitter there were 4,487 “social media experts” in May 2009. By December 2009 there were 15,740. If you look at today I lose count at how many people call themselves an “expert”, “guru”, “ninja” and so on. We have all seen this. Sadly in the past year I have come across many so-called Expert SEO’s work that I have been brought in to correct the work they did.
If you are looking for SEO help with your company in the Silicon Valley contact me before you hire an “Expert” that does a shoddy job. To repair and fix the shoddy work usually costs more.
